McCracken High Announces 2013 Fall Coaches

Coaches for the fall 2013 season of extracurricular and co-curricular activities at McCracken County High School were announced today.

McCracken County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Nancy Waldrop, McCracken County High School principal Michael Ceglinski and McCracken County High School activities director Kris Garrett were on hand to announce the following coaches for men's and women's cross country, dance, football, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, swimming and volleyball.

Dance Team - Quentin Giles
Women's Cross Country - Jeffrey Sturm
Men's Cross Country - Kris Durfee
Men's Golf - Nick Mills and Barry Kight
Women's Golf - Pam and Todd Trimble
Swim Team - Jason Cravens
Wrestling - John Adams
Women's Soccer - Jeff Hill
Men's Soccer - Tim Oltman
Women's Volleyball - Tim Whitis
Football - Jack Haskins

"This is an impressive crew, isn't it!" Dr. Nancy Waldrop, Superintendent of McCracken County Public Schools opened the press conference with a look at the new coaches sitting to her left and right. "Wow, what a proud day for McCracken County Public Schools." Dr. Waldrop continues, "This is a big day for us here as we begin to build the new traditions of our new McCracken County High School."

Michael Ceglinski, Prinicipal of McCracken County High School is excited about the Fall 2013 season with Kris Garrett, the new Activities Director. "His task is to assemble an athletic department, a team of people that meshes and really fulfills the mission of McCracken County High School to make sure every kid is college and career ready when they graduate us, and sports plays a tremendously huge role in achieving that mission."

"I'm looking forward to this important step in building our program and working to start bringing together our three communities to our new program." said Kris Garrett, McCracken County High School Activities Director.

Jack Haskins was head football coach of Lone Oak High School for the last nine years. He has twice led the Purple Flash to the Class 4A state championship game in 2007 and 2009, and led the Heath Pirates to a state runner-up in 1975. Coach Haskins holds the Lone Oak record for most coaching wins, as well as highest winning percentage. "You don't know where I've been to get here, and I'm still here, and I'm still ready to go." said Coach Haskins.

Haskins says that he loves building programs, but this may be his last. "I'm on my last job really, and this is going to be my best, this is going to be the best program I've ever built." Cheers and applause broke out in support of Coach Haskins' promise.

McCracken County High School will open in the fall of 2013.
