As faculty, staff and students prepare for the first major sporting event at the new McCracken County High School, The MCHS athletic department has announced that there will be free shuttle bus service for Saturday's football game against Paducah Tilghman.

Fans who want to avoid anticipated heavy traffic may park at one of six locations and take the free shuttles to and from the game.

Activities Director Kris Garrett says the shuttle service should help alleviate parking issues that may arise from the expected large turnout.

"The shuttle service is to provide a convenience for people that don't want to battle the crowd and hunt for a parking space," Garrett said. "We're expecting a large crowd, and parking may become an issue."

The shuttles will run several times Saturday evening, Garrett said. "We've got two locations in the Information Park, and one location at the Sports Plex. We'll run shuttles starting at about 5:00, all the way up until game time. Those buses will be available between quarters, at half time and after the game to take people back as well."

Extra concession choices will also be offered to hungry spectators, including chili frito pie, BBQ sandwiches, Chick-fil-a sandwiches and Dippin Dots ice cream. "We've set up multiple points of sale for concessions just to accommodate folks," Garrett said.

Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm Saturday at Marquette Field.
