McCracken Man Arrested on Meth Charge

PADUCAH, KY - A report of a chemical odor led to the arrest of a McCracken County man Wednesday night and the seizure of an alleged working meth lab.
Officers were dispatched to Highland Terrace Apartments, located in the 1100 block of North Friendship Road, at 9:45 pm Wednesday. Officers were allowed inside the apartment by a woman who was there with her boyfriend.
The pair said they knew nothing about a chemical odor. Officers asked for identification. When the woman opened the door to a bedroom to get her identification, officers saw what appeared to be pieces of a methamphetamine operation.
The woman's boyfriend, 34-year-old Leonard F. Hamilton, told police that he was the only one involved in the drug manufacturing, and that his girlfriend didn't understand what he was doing. Hamilton then reportedly directed officers to the kitchen, where there was an "active" bottle of methamphetamine.
Hamilton was arrested on a charge of manufacturing methamphetamine and booked into the McCracken Regional Jail. His girlfriend was not charged.
