PADUCAH, KY - A Paducah man has been taken into custody in connection to the rape of a 68-year-old woman at her southside home almost one year ago.

Paducah Police say 42-year-old Jeffrey L. Furlow was arrested Tuesday at his home in Countryaire Mobile Home Park on Clarks River Rd. following a brief foot chase.
The attack occurred in May, 2012, when the woman awoke to find a man standing in the doorway of her bedroom. The man attacked her, but she used her Phillips Lifeline notification device to call for help, and the man fled.

Evidence from the scene was sent to the Kentucky State Police Crime Lab in Frankfort for processing. On Tuesday, detectives were notified that the evidence had allegedly produced a match-Jeffrey Furlow.

He was taken to the police department for questioning, then booked into the McCracken County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
