According to the McCracken County Sheriff's office, the wreck happened in the area of Said Road and By-Pass Road. Deputies said 54-year-old Thomas Byars of Symsonia was traveling north on Said Road when he lost control of his vehicle and crossed the center line. Byars' vehicle left the roadway and rolled numerous times before coming to rest in a ditch.
Byars was extracted from his vehicle by mechanical means and transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Said Road was closed to traffic for approximately one and a half hours for investigation and cleanup.
