According to McCracken County High School, Ella McBee, a senior at the school, has achieved a 36 on the ACT, the highest possible ACT score possible. Less than one-half of 1% of test takers achieve this score. Fewer than 5,000 students out of 1.8 million who took the test in 2019 received the perfect score.
"We are extremely proud of Ella for her national achievement," Matt Houser, principal at McCracken County High School, said.
The ACT is an entrance exam that colleges and universities use to make admissions decisions. The test is a multiple-choice test with four sections, including: English, reading, mathematics, and science reasoning. There is also an optional 40-minute period for an essay.
