McCracken's Waldrop Retirement Reception Thursday

A retirement reception honoring McCracken County School Superintendent Dr. Nancy Waldrop is Thursday evening.

The reception is in the central office board room from 3:30 - 5:30 pm.

The Board of Education unanimously voted to hire Lyon County School Superintendent Quinn Sutton to be the district's next superintendent, after Waldrop told the board last December that she had decided not to accept another contract.

Waldrop replaced Tim Heller as Superintendent in 2010, and led the board through construction of McCracken County High School, consolidating students of Heath, Lone Oak, and Reidland High Schools. The first year of classes at the new school ends this month.
