Medical Episode Leads to I-24 Bridge Crash
By West Kentucky Star Staff
MCCRACKEN COUNTY - A medical episode led to a crash Tuesday morning on the I-24 Bridge.

Just before 7:00 am, deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff's Office responded to the eastbound lanes of the bridge for a single vehicle crash. Deputies said 26-year-old Monty Enderud of Aurora, IL was traveling east when he experienced a medical episode that caused him to lose consciousness.

Enderud's vehicle struck the concrete barrier which separates the eastbound and westbound lanes, before coming to rest, blocking one lane of travel. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The westbound lanes of the bridge are currently restricted to one lane of travel due to construction. As a result of the crash, the eastbound lanes were also restricted to one lane for approximately 40 minutes.
