Shortly after midnight, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 5200 block of Benton Road for traffic violations.
Deputies made contact with the driver, 19-year-old Bobby L. Agan, of Metropolis. During the course of the investigation, they allege Agan was under the influence of methamphetamine.
As the investigation continued, a search of the vehicle was conducted. Deputies located items of drug paraphernalia containing quantities of suspected methamphetamine.
He was charged with careless driving, failure to/or improper signal, DUI first offense, 1st degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia (buy/possess).
Agan was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
