On Tuesday, a contractor began the milling and paving of South 28th Street in Paducah.  The work is going on between Jackson Street and Old Mayfield Road.

Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed by Friday afternoon.

Crews expect to keep one lane of traffic open. However, for the safety of the crews, drivers are urged to find an alternate route.  Please use caution, and watch for the work crews and traffic control devices.

The project is part of the city's annual street improvement plan. Part of the funding is provided through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Municipal Aid Program (MAP). MAP funds are collected from the State gas tax and are allocated for maintenance, reconstruction, or construction of city streets.
