Moped Crash Injures Two

Two people were hurt Tuesday evening in a crash on US-45 involving a moped.

According to Kentucky State Police, 59-year-old Jeffrey Blake was operating a moped,  traveling south on US-45 at a slow rate of speed. 25-year-old Dustin Hawkins was also traveling south and failed to see Blake, crashing into him from behind.

Blake was taken to Baptist Health, where he was admitted with non-life threatening injuries.  Blake's passenger on the moped, 42-year-old Barbara Wilson, was taken to Vanderbilt Hopsital in Nashville for her injuries.

Hawkins and his passengers were not injured in the collision.

Blake was charged with failure to maintain insurance, Driving DUI Suspended (aggravated), Driving Without License- Negligent in Accident and No Helmet.
