By WKYStar Staff
Paducah, KY - McCracken County Sheriff's Department responded to an accident at the corner of John Puryear Drive and Silk Tree Blvd Saturday night around 9:30.

Apparently, a 2012 Harley Davidson Motorcycle driven by Patrick Egner, 38 of Calvert City had taken the corner onto John Puryear Drive when his foot peg made contact with the concrete curbing, causing the bike to jerk violently.

Both Egner and his passenger, Michelle Childress, 34 of Oklahoma were thrown from the motorcycle, striking the pavement while the bike continued a short ways further onto a grassy area.

Egner and Childress were both taken to a local hospital by ambulance for apparent non-life threatening injuries. Neither was wearing a helmet.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Mercy Regional Ambulance Service and the Reidland Farley Fire Department.
