The McCracken County Fiscal Court met Monday to discuss changes that will be coming to Carson Park, and FEMA grants for property on the Ohio River flood plain.
Carson Park's leadership board has been drawing up plans for new layouts, and for the remodeling of the park itself. The leadership board has already been cleared for two grants, and are waiting to find out about three more for which they may be eligible. The board will soon start their fundraising phase before construction, and will discuss its budget needs for the next fiscal year at an upcoming workshop.
The fiscal court had its first reading of Ordinance 2014-3, which is a budget amendment through FEMA. The ordinance will allow McCracken County to purchase multiple homes that were ruined in the flood of 2009. McCracken County would receive $600,000 for the purpose of purchasing the homes.
