PADUCAH - A Paducah man facing multiple charges appeared in court Thursday for an arraignment.

According to the McCracken Circuit Court Clerk, 38-year-old Mauricus Haynes was arraigned on charges of fleeing or evading police, third-degree assault, resisting arrest, defacing a firearm, convicted felon in possession of a handgun, receiving stolen property, and improper lane usage.

A pretrial conference is scheduled for June 21 at 9 am.

Haynes was arrested on February 14 after a traffic stop. During the stop, police reportedly saw a gun in the driver's side door and attempted to arrest him. Haynes allegedly resisted, kicking an officer and striking him in the face. He was arrested later that day at his home.

He remains lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
