One person was injured when a vehicle struck a  McCracken County school bus Tuesday morning.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened about 7:20 am on Old U.S. Hwy 60 at the rear entrance to McCracken County High School. Deputies said 17-year-old Rebecca Griffith of Paducah was driving east when her vehicle struck the rear of a school bus driven by 45-year-old Burlin Brower of Kevil.

Police said Brower was stopped and waiting for traffic to clear so he could turn left into the school. Griffith said she was blinded by the sun and did not see that the bus was stopped in the road.

Griffith was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. Brower was not injured, and no one else was on the school bus at the time of the collision.

Traffic in the area was reduced to one lane for approximately 45 minutes after the accident.
