PADUCAH, KY - Monday evening, the McCracken County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to an injury accident on Husbands Road that left the driver with a DUI charge.

According to police, 53-year-old Robert D. McDaniel of Boaz, KY was driving southbound on Husbands Road when his vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons and McDaniel overcorrected. After crossing back over both lanes of traffic his vehicle left the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned, coming to a rest on its side.

McDaniel had to be extracted from the vehicle by emergency personnel.

Police determined that the primary contributing factor in the crash was alcohol. McDaniel was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol 1st offense.
