The city of Paducah was voted third-best in a national poll to determine the "Best Small-Town Cultural Scene" in America.

The poll was conducted over the last several weeks by USA Today and 10Best, with participants able to cast a vote once each day for their favorite city.

Paducah was consistently in the top three for the last couple of weeks, and finished behind winner Lake City, South Carolina and runner-up Asbury Park, New Jersey. Sheridan, Wyoming and Breaux Bridge, Louisiana rounded out the top five.

The site noted that Paducah is a designated UNESCO Creative City and is "best known for its National Quilt Museum which anchors a thriving fiber arts community. The Lower Town Arts District, the town’s oldest neighborhood, is home to numerous working artists and artists-in-residence whose work can be seen at many galleries and collectives around the city."

The website listing for the poll did not mention the Market House Theatre, Carson Center, Maiden Alley Cinema, Paducah Symphony Orchestra, or Barbeque on the River, among other local favorites.
