Paducah Celebrates National Night Out

PADUCAH, KY - This evening, Paducah will join cities throughout the country in celebrating the 29th annual National Night Out.

Paducah's celebration will be centered at Lang Park, also known as Circle Park, in the Fountain Avenue neighborhood from 6-8 p.m. Activities there will include the Paducah Fire Department's Safety Trailer, the Paducah Bank WOW Ice Cream Truck, a Paducah Police Department K-9 team, cornhole and other games, a popcorn machine, drinks and more.

The Midtown Alliance of Neighbors is participating in the event. Executive Director Sharon Poat said the association is excited to showcase the neighborhood and welcomes all residents of the city.

"The more the merrier," Poat said.

National Night Out was designed to increase crime awareness and generate support for and participation in anti-crime efforts. It is also intended to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. It is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, and will involve 15,325 communities in all 50 states, US territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world.
