Paducah Hosts Holiday Events Now until Christmas

Pam Spencer, Paducah's Information Officer reminds the community and neighboring towns that several events are planned in Paducah between now and Christmas.

· Christmas in the Park Lighting Ceremony at Noble Park starts at 5:30 pm on Friday, Nov. 28. This is the 18th year for Christmas in the Park. Tour the lights during the evenings through the end of the year. Monetary and food donations will help Paducah Cooperative Ministry, Family Service Society, the Salvation Army and St. Vincent DePaul Society. This is organized by Paducah Power System.

· Dickens of a Christmas Small Business Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, Nov. 29 in downtown Paducah. Carolers, dancers, folks in costume, great holiday shopping deals, s’mores, and much more... 

· Santa House in downtown Paducah will be the place to visit Santa on Saturdays. After making a grand entrance to downtown by carriage Saturday, Nov. 29 at 10 am, Santa will be available for photos and to hear Christmas wishes until 5 pm. He’ll be downtown on Saturdays, 10 am-5 pm and Sundays, 1-4 pm through December 21.

· Knights of Columbus Christmas Tree Sale in at the Farmers’ Market Pavilion at 2nd and Monroe to purchase a Christmas tree. They will be set up Friday, Nov. 28, 9 am-8 pm. Then they will be available Saturdays, 9 am-8 pm; Sundays, noon-5 pm, and weekdays, 4-8 pm.

· Candy Cane Hunt will be held at 1 pm on December 6 on the Carson Center lawn. Free event for kids 12 and under to collect candy canes.  Registration begins that day at noon.

· Ugly Christmas Sweater Fun Run is a first time for event for runners. Registration begins at 3 pm on December 6 in front of the Police Station, 1400 Broadway.  Then at 4:30 pm runners, joggers, and those who want to strut while wearing an ugly Christmas sweater will head down Broadway to 2nd Street. This should be a crowd favorite. Cost is $15 but if you bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots, the cost will be only $10 and the registration formis on the City's website: www.paducahky.gov

· Christmas Parade
begins at 5 pm on December 6. The parade will travel from 14th Street on Broadway toward the river.
