A Paducah man was arrested Saturday morning on several charges after a police pursuit.

The Paducah Police Department said a caller reported a man passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle just before 7 a.m. at the intersection of North 13th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

As an officer approached the scene, he saw a vehicle run a red light at North 13th Street and Broadway. He stopped the car near 10th Street, but the driver – later identified as 46-year-old Shaun White – refused to put the car in park and yelled at the officer that he was not going to stop. White then turned left onto 10th Street and fled.

The officer did not pursue White, but a few minutes later he spotted his vehicle parked on the property of Millwork Products LLC on Monroe Street. White then fled on foot when he saw the officer's cruiser.

White was caught in the yard of a home after a short foot chase. He was arrested on charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police, second-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, disregarding a traffic control device, driving under the influence, and driving with a suspended or revoked operator’s license. He also had bench warrants charging him with three counts of contempt of court. He was booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
