A Paducah man was arrested and charged with second degree assault after stabbing another man in the arm with a meat fork during a late afternoon argument Thursday at the victim’s home on Ashcraft Avenue.
Paducah police say when officers arrived around 5:20 pm, 57-year-old Joey M. Walker, of Ashcraft Avenue, and several witnesses told officers that Walker was grilling on the front porch of his home when Walker told 34-year-old Jason E. Rains, of Miller Street, to leave the property. Rains refused, and he and Walker, who was holding a meat fork in his hand, got into an argument. Rains took the fork from Walker and stabbed him several times in the upper right arm. A witness broke up the fight, and Rains fled the scene.
Walker had several puncture wounds in his arm, but refused treatment at the scene by Mercy Ambulance personnel. He said he would seek treatment on his own.
Rains was located at a mobile home a few blocks from the scene. He was arrested, charged with second degree assault and booked into McCracken County Jail.
