Paducah Man Charged with Sexual Abuse of Child

A Paducah man was arrested Tuesday on sexual abuse charges.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department received a complaint on July 31 from someone alleging 42-year-old David Averitt had sexually abused a juvenile under the age of 12 three days prior while he was watching the child.

After interviewing the child and further investigation, Deputies arrested Averitt and booked him into the McCracken County Jail on a charge of 1st degree sexual abuse.
