A Paducah man was arrested after police say he stabbed his friend early Sunday morning.

According to Paducah Police, an officer responded shortly before 5:00 am Sunday to a home in the 1000 block of River Oaks Boulevard in reference to a stabbing. When police arrived, 45-year-old Danny Carden was awaiting an ambulance in the driveway. A witness told police that Carden had been stabbed by 45-year-old Robert Hiett. An officer found Hiett inside the home, along with a bloody knife on a table in the kitchen.

Police said Hiett told detectives that he had stabbed Carden. Carden sustained three stab wounds to the back and was taken to Lourdes Hospital for treatment. Hiett was arrested on a charge of first-degree assault and booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
