PADUCAH, KY - A Paducah man faces drug charges after police discover drugs in his apartment Sunday night.

At around 9:00 pm Sunday, McCracken County Sheriff's Deputies say they responded to 5788 Metropolis Lake Road Apartment B on a complaint of illegal drug activity. When deputies arrived, they say they could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana from inside the apartment.

Upon speaking with a woman at the residence, she told police that she didn't know anything about it. She told police that she shared the apartment with 20-year-old Chase Laster of Paducah.

Deputies found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in plain sight on an end table. Laster returned to the apartment and confessed to the officers that the drugs and paraphernalia were his.

Laster was arrested for drug and paraphernalia charges, as well as Wanton Endangerment - Second Degree for the drugs and paraphernalia being within reach of two small children who lived in the apartment.

Laster was booked into the McCracken County Jail.
