Paducah police seek the public’s help in identifying a man who tried to steal more than $1,000 in merchandise from Wal-Mart on Irvin Cobb Drive.

Employees say the man allegedly walked out of the store with a cart containing the merchandise about 3:15 Wednesday afternoon. When they confronted him, he left the cart in front of the store, and fled on foot.

Anyone with information about his identity is asked to call the Paducah Police Department at 270-444-8550 or Crime Stoppers at 270-443-TELL.

Tipsters also may access the online tip form through the City of Paducah website at http://paducahky.gov/west-ky-crime-stoppers. Information leading to an arrest or indictment may result in a reward of up to $1,000.
