SWAT Team Helps Arrest Two on Drug Charges
By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - Two people were arrested Thursday after Paducah Police Drug and Vice Enforcement officers and the department's SWAT team served a search warrant at a home on Husband Road.

Officers say 34-year-old Betty Martin and 30-year-old Terry Gilbert were arrested on various drug-related charges.

Detective Sgt. Will Gilbert said an investigation began about two weeks ago into alleged illegal drug activity at the couple's home on Husbands Road. Enough evidence was gathered to obtain a search warrant, and the department's SWAT team was brought in due to the couple's prior arrests.

Officers contacted the Kentucky State Police after finding two "one-step" methamphetamine cooking devices at the home.

Sergeant Gilbert says marijuana, methamphetamine, scales, cash, and other items were also found in the home.

Both Martin and Gilbert were booked into the McCracken Regional Jail.
