The Paducah Symphony Orchestra has decided to suspend the rest of this concert season.

Due to uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic and some significant scheduling conflicts, the final two concerts will not take place. The symphony had already postponed a performance of Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony scheduled for March 14.

A press release says the PSO board did not come to the decision lightly, but, "the health and safety of our patrons, volunteers, musicians and staff are paramount. The performing arts are going to be hit hard by the response to this virus, but we must make sacrifices in the near-term in order to ensure a global recovery and a return to our normal way of life."

As a non-profit organization reliant on donations and ticket sales, the symphony is urging ticket holders to simply donate the cost of their tickets. Any such donations would be tax deductible and would require no action. An acknowledgement letter for tax purposes would be sent.

If someone chooses not to donate the value of their tickets, they can choose to receive a voucher good for tickets in the 2020-21 season, or get a full refund for the tickets.

Anyone who doesn't want to donate the value of their tickets must notify the orchestra by April 10. Click the link below to fill out the refund or voucher form, or send an email to Contact@PaducahSymphony.org with your
preference.

The symphony's office is closed, but they will email updates or post them on their Facebook page (see additional link below).

Anyone who needs to contact PSO can send an email to Contact@PaducahSymphony.org, send a message on Facebook, or leave a voicemail at 270-444-0065.
