Paducah Woman Admits Stealing Sister's Identity
By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY -

A Paducah woman has been arrested, and charged with stealing another woman's identity.

On July 9, the victim reported that her identity had been stolen. She discovered it during a recent examination of her driving record, which directly affects her employment. It showed that she had received a traffic ticket in March 2011. The victim denied that she had been stopped, and filed a report with the Sheriff’s Department.

The investigation led detectives to suspect the victim’s sister, 31-year-old Lora Lee, was responsible for the crime. On Friday, Lee was located and interviewed about the incident. She admitted to detectives that she was stopped on the date in question, and provided the officer with her sister's date of birth and social security number to avoid being arrested, because her license was suspended at the time.

Lee was arrested and charged with theft of identity. She was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
