A Paducah woman was arrested Thursday morning after police say she was caught leaving the scene of a break-in at the office of a West End apartment complex.

According to Paducah police, a resident called them at 12:17 am after seeing someone in a dark-colored hoodie sweatshirt break the glass door to the office of West Park Village apartments. Officers arrived within minutes, and saw 51-year-old Patricia A. Thompson of Paducah in a dark hoodie in the pool area, walking away from the office building.

Police said they saw Thompson dropping several items outside of a fence, and found a hammer, flashlight, gloves and an envelope containing $20 cash.

Police said Thompson was interviewed, and finally admitted to breaking into the office and taking the money. She was arrested and booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
