Paducah Woman Charged with Embezzlement

Police have arrested a Paducah woman for embezzling more than $3,700 from a local grocery store.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, 20-year-old Kayla A. Helton, of Paducah was arrested Wednesday on a warrant stemming from an investigation of events during her employment at Banks Market in Lone Oak, where she worked as a cashier from mid-November to early January. Police said Helton made more than 30 fraudulent returns of merchandise during that time, and pocketed the cash herself. Helton also reportedly credited several fraudulent returns onto her credit card.

Deputies arrested Helton Wednesday without incident. She was taken in the McCracken County Jail.
