A Paducah woman faces prescription fraud charges, after police say she tried to pass a prescription with altered fill dates.

Paducah Police Investigators said they were contacted by a local pharmacy about a woman who had allegedly tried to pass an altered prescription on two separate occasions.

Pharmacy staff told detectives that 35-year-old Emily Williams tried to pass a prescription for Adderall twice, with two separate fill dates. The staff checked with the prescribing physician’s office, and employees there confirmed the prescription, but said the dates on the prescription Williams had were altered.

Detectives presented their investigation to a McCracken County grand jury, which indicted Williams on two counts of forgery of a prescription for a controlled substance.

She was arrested this morning and booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
