The McCracken County Sheriff's Department arrested a man Tuesday after he fled from the police in a vehicle and on foot.

At around 9:30 am, the Masaac County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop a speeding vehicle. It had been reported stolen Monday from Clarks River Road in Paducah.

The vehicle did not pull over and the McCracken County Sheriff's Department was contacted about the pursuit. The suspect's vehicle crossed the I-24 Bridge and exited onto Cairo Road at 9:43 am.

The suspect, later identified as 21-year-old Charles Henning of Grand Rivers, continued towards town on Cairo Road as multiple deputies got into position with stop sticks in an attempt to prevent the pursuit from entering the Paducah city limits. Deputies deployed the stop sticks at two different locations but Henning continued to flee.

Officers were able to stop traffic as the chase crossed the Irvin Cobb intersection towards I-24 on John Puryear Drive.

When there was no traffic around and speeds had slowed, deputies attempted to conduct a rolling stop on Henning's vehicle, but he rammed vehicles driven by a deputy and a detective.

After the detective successfully conducted a PIT maneuver to end the pursuit, Henning attempted to flee on foot. Henning was brought down by K-9 officer Sakal and taken into custody without further incident.

Mercy EMS responded to check the minor injuries created by the K-9 apprehension, and Henning was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Henning was charged with fleeing and evading police 1st offense, speeding 26 mph or more over the limit, receiving stolen property over $10,000, wanton endangerment 1st degree, criminal mischief 1st degree, fleeing and evading police 2nd degree (on foot), resisting arrest, driving on a suspended license and DUI.

There is a video of the arrest below.
