Paducah Police need your help in identifying a woman who passed a counterfeit traveler’s check at a local restaurant Monday night.  She is described as a hispanic female, wearing what appears to be a gray top and blue jeans.

Police said the woman used a counterfeit American Express Traveler’s Check to purchase a $20 gift card, and received $80 in change, at Cracker Barrel along Hinkleville Road, in front of Kentucky Oaks Mall. Surveillance video shows the woman was riding in a white Suburban-type vehicle.

Police say merchants should be particularly observant during the holiday season for counterfeit money and traveler’s checks. The check passed Monday night lacked watermarks and had no reflective mark on the front, officers said.

Anyone with information about the woman’s identity is asked to call the Paducah Police Department at 270-444-8550 or Crime Stoppers at 270-443-TELL.
