By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - UPDATE: According to police, Thompson has turned himself in at the Marshall County Sheriff's Department.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in an Arson Investigation from April 2011.

According to police, 48-year-old Troy D. Thompson is wanted by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department for charges stemming from an investigation at 3712 Clarks River Road, Lot 61.

In 2011, the victim contacted the sheriff’s department, saying she saw a neighbor go behind her home and shortly after discovered a pile of leaves on fire, next to the home. The victim quickly put out the fire before serious damage was done.  Deputies later discovered a cigarette had been configured with other items to ignite the leaves.  They say it was apparent the fire was not accidental.

On Aug. 9, a McCracken County Grand Jury indicted Thompson on an Arson 1st Degree charge. Thompson was known to be living in Calloway County on Radio Road, but no longer lives at that home.

If anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of Mr. Thompson, please contact the McCracken County Sheriff's Department at 444-4719, or contact Crimestoppers at 443-TELL. Anyone with information leading to the arrest and/or conviction may be eligible for a reward up to $1000.
