Authorities are looking for a suspect in a recent credit card theft case.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office says a deputy responded Tuesday to a report of a white female using a credit card fraudulently at a local gas station.

The suspect reportedly used a credit card to buy 18 cartons of cigarettes, totaling nearly $1000.00. The card was not accepted initially, but the clerk ran the card manually and made the sale.

The owner of the card was notified of the transaction attempts, and later contacted the credit card company.

Deputies said they later learned the same woman had attempted to purchase two more cartons of cigarettes at a convenience store in Mayfield, but was denied.

Deputies advised anyone who encounters someone making a suspicious purchase to contact law enforcement.
