The public's assistance is being requested by Kentucky State Police in finding a man suspected of stealing a truck.

In early September, 45-year-old George West of Paducah borrowed a friend's truck and failed to return it. When Kentucky State Police were notified, they spoke to West by telephone, and he agreed to return the truck. However, he has failed to do so.

Troopers obtained an arrest warrant for West for auto theft. Police located the truck on Friday afternoon but West has not been found.

While police are asking for the public's help, they have also learned that West has made what they call suicidal statements on his Facebook page. Troopers say he has used the term, "suicide by cop," online.

Anyone knowing of the whereabouts of West, should not approach him, but contact the Kentucky State Police at 270-856-3721. Callers may remain anonymous.
