Paducah Police Warn About Phone Scam
By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - The Paducah Police Department is warning people about a phone scam. Several elderly residents have informed the police department that they have received calls from a toll free number with the caller claiming to represent the Federal Reserve. The caller has the person's name and phone number and even has called one unlisted number. The caller says that the Federal Reserve is holding a check in that person's name for $950,000.

Residents are reminded to be extremely careful when dealing with such contacts and to provide no personal information or money up front.  Please remember the saying that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
