A prayer vigil is scheduled tonight for the Paducah child struck by a vehicle Tuesday after getting off a school bus.

Eleven-year-old Zachary Pittman was struck by a car driven by Courtney Woods of Hickory Tuesday afternoon along Husband Road. Deputies said Pittman was attempting to cross the road shortly after getting off the school bus. Deputies say the car's impact knocked Pittman out of his shoes, and he was thrown approximately 30 feet.

Deputies do not expect charges to be filed against the Woods, saying speed does not appear to be a factor at this time.

Pittman received multiple injuries from the incident, and remains in critical condition at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville.

The public is invited to the prayer vigil to be held this evening at 7 pm at Reidland Baptist Church.
