The process of selecting a new principal for Paducah Tilghman High School is now underway.

Current principal Art Davis recently announced that he plans to retire at the end of this school year. Davis has served in that capacity since 2003, and began as a teacher in 1992.

Paducah Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Donald Shively pointed out that Davis is the longest-serving principal in the history of the school.

Shively told West Kentucky Star that the Site Based Decision Making Committee, which he will be chairing for the principal selection process, has used a survey to get feedback as to what respondents feel is most important when choosing the new principal.

Shively said the committee will meet on Wednesday, February 13th, to take the information gathered and prepare questions for the interview process.

He said they anticipate the interviews to be held in late February and early March.
