Rod And Bike Show Today at Heartland
By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - Heartland Worship Center is hosting a Rod and Bike Show today in the church parking lot, to benefit two of their ministries.

Staging for the show begins at 8:00 am, and the public can see the vehicles from 10:00 am - 8:00 pm.

Trophies will be presented to the top three in each class - Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, Rat Rods, Street Rods, Muscle Cars, Late Models, Custom, and Stock Trucks.

For those who don't know, a Rat Rod is "the coolest thing you'll ever see," according to Randy Bridges, one of the show's organizers.

"You take anything you've got in the barn, you put it together, put an engine in it, make it roll, and make it meet local laws, you can bring it," Bridges said.

The event will be held rain or shine, and includes vendors, T-shirts, live music, and a swap shop.

All proceeds will benefit the ACTS Ministry and GAP Ministry.

ACTS (Acts of Compassion Through Service) provides furniture, household items, and clothing to area needy families in the area.

GAP (God's Appalachian Partnership) provides physical and spiritual assistance to families in eastern Kentucky's Appalachia Mountains, specifically Floyd County.

The church is located at 4777 Alben Barkley Drive, off Exit 7 on I-24, across from West Kentucky Community and Technical College.
