Rollover Accident on I-24 Injures Two

Two people were injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash Saturday morning on Interstate 24.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, the accident happened around the 10.5 mile marker on the eastbound lanes. When deputies arrived they found the driver, 19-year-old Dalton McNew of Eddyville, and his passenger, 20-year-old Sidney Nichols of Kuttawa, out of the vehicle and walking around.

Deputies said McNew fell asleep while driving and the vehicle crossed both lanes of traffic, then flipped, hit the guardrail and came to rest upright.  

McNew and Nichols reported possible injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
