MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY - A two-car collision Tuesday in McCracken County sent a Paducah man to the hospital.
According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, the crash happened in the 1600 block of Said Road. Deputies said 34-year-old Brett Matthews of Paducah was traveling north on Said Road when he failed to negotiate a turn and his vehicle veered off the roadway.
Matthews over-corrected and pulled into the oncoming lane, striking a box truck driven by 51-year-old Wayne Thompson of Hickory. Matthews' vehicle then left the road and rolled onto the passenger side into a ditch.
A passenger in Matthews' vehicle, 63-year-old Johnny Artis of Paducah, had to be removed by mechanical means, and was taken to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
