Breaking temperature records has become almost routine this week in Paducah.

After the mark was set Sunday for the hottest Mother's Day ever, Monday followed suit with a record high temperature of 92 degrees. That surpassed the old mark of 91 set in 1995.

If Tuesday's forecast high of 91 is accurate, we will tie yet another daily record that last happened in 2001.

Midweek thunderstorms are expected to knock down temperatures a bit, but will still be above the normal daily highs of 78 for this week.

As the graphic shows, virtually the whole nation will experience above-average temperatures for the rest of May.
