Eleven months after a fire destroyed the majority of their business, Shooter's Supply plans to reopen their newly rebuilt store on August 23-25.

Fire caused by a faulty computer speaker in the office damaged the entire front portion of the business on September 27, but within a few weeks they had separated the back buildings from the damaged section and re-opened the gun and archery shop. A satellite store on Highway 62 opened in October, selling apparel and some hunting supplies.

Co-owner Chance Clanahan said they closed the second location at the end of April and they have been very busy getting things ready for the new building.

On Tuesday, workers were cutting through the wall that separated the old building from the newly built front section. Once that's done, it will be filled with inventory.

Clanahan said, "It's gonna be a lot better, a lot bigger. It's gonna have a lot more stuff in there. We're moving archery, (and) all of the hunting clothing, everything will be in the new building."

Everyone is invited to the event, Clanahan said. "We're gonna do giveaways, we're gonna have sales reps on hand. It's gonna be a big deal," he added.

Through the entire process, customers have been loyal to the family-owned business. Some helped clear damage and debris after the fire, others brought food for employees as they worked during those trying days, and others were just faithful patrons through the rebuild.
