Signal Work on Lone Oak Road This Week
By West Kentucky Star Staff
PADUCAH - Turn lanes at intersections along Lone Oak Road near I-24 will be closed overnight on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the closures will allow crews to perform work on traffic signals at Jack Paxton Drive, and at the entrance to Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital.

The closures of the left turn lanes at these locations will be between 7 pm Wednesday and and 1 am Thursday, and between 7 pm Thursday and 1 am Friday. Drivers should watch for bucket trucks and crews, and be prepared to drive past the intersection where they wish to turn left. They are then encouraged to turn around and approach the intersection from the other direction and make a right turn.

Workers will add permissive yellow flashing arrows for the turn lanes. This will improve traffic flow at these intersections by allowing drivers a longer opportunity to turn left under a protected green arrow and a permissive flash yellow arrow.
