Six people were hurt Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Old U.S. Hwy 45 and Lebanon Church Road.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, two vehicles collided Wednesday afternoon at around 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of Old U.S. Hwy 45 and Lebanon Church Road.

The investigation showed that prior to the crash, 25-year-old Sarah J. Norman, of Paducah was traveling westbound on Lebanon Church Road and was approaching the intersection of Old U.S. 45. Norman either slowed or stopped at the intersection and then proceeded to cross Old U.S. 45, pulling into the path of 64-year-old Henry Willett.

The collision caused Norman's vehicle to spin into a ditch. Willett's vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest on its side in a yard at the intersection.

Norman was treated and released from Western Baptist Hospital for minor injuries. Her front seat passenger, 39-year-old James D. Smith, of Paducah, was flown to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana and was listed in critical condition. Smith’s three children, 7-year-old Devon, 11-year old-Tyler, and 12-year-old Hunter were treated and released from Lourdes Hospital.
