PADUCAH - A woman who has been repeatedly warned and issued numerous citations was arrested Friday after she again was found asking for money on private property across from Kentucky Oaks Mall.

Paducah Police report that 64-year-old Lynda G. Summerford, of McCracken County, was arrested on a charge of 3rd degree criminal trespass just after 4 pm Friday, and was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Summerford had been cited on July 27th, after an officer saw her walk into the roadway at New Holt Road and Hinkleville Road, soliciting money from a line of cars stopped in traffic. The officer reported he had warned her numerous times about walking into traffic to ask for money.

On July 29th, the manager of Olive Garden asked officers to remove Summerford from the restaurant property. At that time, she was standing at the corner of New Holt Road and Hinkleville Road, asking for money. Officers told Summerford to leave, and she did so at 11:04 a.m. When officers returned to the area at 11:36 am, she was back, soliciting for money, and was cited on a charge of 3rd degree criminal trespass.

Less than 20 minutes later, officers saw her walk into traffic at the same intersection to collect money from a vehicle. Summerford was cited again, at 11:53 am, for disregarding traffic regulations.

At 1:06 p.m., officers checked again, and found Summerford was in the roadway, collecting money from a vehicle. She was cited a second time for disregarding traffic regulations.

About 15 minutes later, officers found Summerford back on Olive Garden property. She fled when she saw police and was caught on the parking lot of a restaurant across New Holt Road. She was arrested on a charge of 3rd degree criminal trespass and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

According to court records, she appeared in court and was fined $100 and ordered to stay off Olive Garden property, and to not solicit for two years.

On Friday, officers found Summerford once again on Olive Garden property. She fled when she saw police, but was caught on the parking lot of a restaurant next door.
