A Paducah man faces murder charges, after police say he stabbed another man Wednesday morning.

McCracken County Sheriff’s Deputies responded shortly after 11:30 am to a report of a stabbing on Poole Road near the Lane Road intersection. Responders arrived to find 28-year-old Jerry Staten of Paducah on the side of the roadway with a stab wound to his chest. Staten was taken to Lourdes Hospital where he later died.

Detectives questioned 27-year-old Robert Lambert, who they say admitted to stabbing Staten. Lambert was booked into the McCracken County Jail on a murder charge.

Deputies say their investigation is ongoing.
