Construction of the new double crossover diamond interchange at I-24 exit 4 will require that exit ramp to be closed for two weeks this summer.

Additionally, US Highway 60 itself will have to be closed for about a month.

Officials say the closures won't take place until after Memorial Day weekend.

When the closures are in place, signage will be installed to direct drivers to use exits 3 and 7 as alternate routes to the mall area.

The US 60 closure will be between James Sanders Boulevard and Coleman Road. However, access to businesses in that section will still be maintained.

Until then, construction activity is limited to nights, but some daytime and weekend work may be required. One lane will remain open at all times.

Officials say US-60 is required to reopen by August 11.
