A rally scheduled for this afternoon at 5:00 pm in Noble Park for solidarity, prayer, and peaceful stand-in has been postponed.

The rally had been planned by a diverse group to stand-in against the tragic loss of the lives of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and Ahmaud Arbery.

However, West Kentucky Star has been told that other groups have taken these plans and are trying to organize an entirely different type of protest, which is not what was planned. As a result, it is felt that this would not create the safe and positive atmosphere that is the goal of this gathering.

The original plan was to follow social distancing guidelines to make sure that all participants are protected from COVID-19.

The gathering will take place at a later date and also Zoom workshops to encourage racial reconciliation and the protection of vulnerable populations from abuse of power are being planned.

Any rally or protest that occurs is not an organized gathering of the original plan.
